A native of Fort Sumner, Dr. Vick is truely a homegrown Provider. He served as Medical Director for the De Baca County Hospital in his early years of practice and returned to that role for the Clinic in 2009 after working for multi-physician practice in Albuquerque for several years. Aong with his medical expertise, Dr. Vick understands the community and it’s healthcare challenges. A devoted father and grandfather, Dr. Vick strives to influence a healthier lifestyle for his patients and the community at large.
James Gonzales, MDDr. Gonzales joined the Clinic team in 2023. He was born and raised in New Mexico. He started his journey as a public servant with the State of New Mexico and the Army National Guard. Dr. Gonzales now serves his community and patients throughout central and eastern New Mexico as a board-certified family physician.
He has held numerous leadership positions throughout his dynamic career. As an associate professor at UNM and Burrell College, he participates in the evolution of residents and medical students by sharing his experiences and knowledge.
Genuine, compassionate, and driven are the words his wife uses to describe her husband. Dr. Gonzales and Ashley share their lives with three beautiful daughters and their pet rabbit.
Laney Pierce first joined our Clinical team as a student in 2013, completing her clinical work at De Baca Family Practice Clinic before graduation. Laney joined our team as a Certified Nurse Practitioner in 2014 following her graduation from Texas Tech University. Laney sees patients at the Main Clinic and the School Based Health Center.
